“Digital Switzerlands” by Kristen E. Eichensehr, University of Pennsylvania Law Review (forthcoming 2019).
Read abstract, Introduction, Conclusion
Eichensehr argues for a model of platform behavior and responsibility that would position them as intermediaries between nation-states and individuals – and potential defenders of at-risk populations. Is this model a useful one? Can tech companies really be neutral in the same way that a country like Switzerland can?
