Dodd-Frank Act
Following the financial crisis of 2007-09, Congress passed the Dodd-Frank Act. While most of it addresses regulation of financial institutions and markets, some of its provisions added corporate governance and disclosure requirements for public (SEC-registered) companies. As with SOX, most of the Dodd-Frank elements applicable to corporations generally are separately built into the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, but as with SOX, it's sometimes helpful to see the Dodd-Frank provisions as they were enacted in the stand-alone law, linked here.
