Multistate Settlement Negotiation Exercise- Individual Assignments

In an effort to understand the reality of state attorneys general multistate cases, we engage in a multistate negotiation exercise. On one side will be a company and its subsidiary accused of privacy violations. The company participants will be the company CEO, the subsidiary CEO, outside counsel, and inside counsel. On the other side will be four states. The state participants will be the assistant attorneys general from three states and outside plaintiff’s counsel for the fourth state. Each participant will be given additional, secret instructions. The object of the exercise is to negotiate a multistate settlement.
